Sberbank is not included in the list of companies prepared by the Ministry of Finance for possible privatization, the head of the department said. According to Anton Siluanov, there are other banks in which the State has a larger stake. Previously, the Ministry of Finance submitted to the government a list of 30 companies whose equity participation could be reduced.

The list of state companies for privatization does not include Sberbank – Ministry of Finance

The Ministry of Finance did not include Sberbank in the list of companies with high state participation for possible privatization. The head of the department Anton Siluanov spoke about this in an interview with the Rossiya 24 television channel, his words were reported by Kommersant.

“There are other banks in which the State has more than a controlling stake. Our proposal was aimed at those banks,” Siluanov said.

The head of the Ministry of Finance also clarified that the decision on privatization is planned for 2024. In this regard, there is an agreement with members of the Government, Siluanov stressed.

On December 21, the Ministry of Finance presented the government with a list of 30 companies for possible privatization. The State’s participation in the capital of these companies exceeds 50%.

On December 22, the head of Sberbank, German Gref, said that he considers it possible to privatize 25% of the organization’s shares. The State, through various departments, controls 92.2% of Sberbank shares.
