Abbas Kanani, chief pharmacist at Chemist Click, told Express.co.uk what not to take if you have a hangover headache. And this is paracetamol. It is better to take ibuprofen instead.
It is known that paracetamol can theoretically interact with alcohol and increase the likelihood of liver damage. Paracetamol overdose is the main cause of liver failure.
According to the British Liver Foundation, paracetamol is toxic to the liver in large amounts. However, the NHS states that it is generally safe to take this medicine after drinking a moderate amount of alcohol.
It’s also better to avoid a hangover altogether if possible.
