The best games for iPhone and Mac released in 2023. The whole world plays them

2023 has become extremely busy with game releases not only for PCs and consoles, but also for mobile platforms.

With the release of the iPhone 15 Pro, gamers received ports of two popular AAA titles at once, but even this is not all that has become actively popular on iOS and iPadOS. Love 9 of this year’s best releases for the platform, plus two bonus games for macOS.

1. Resident Evil Village (iOS/iPadOS/macOS)

Perhaps the loudest release of this year for iPhone and iPad.

This is the first major port to feature an iOS console and native support for the A17 Pro processor. We have already treated this game separately and how the port for the iPhone turned out. This is a stellar horror in the well-known universe about surviving a zombie apocalypse.

The new part begins with sad events, because of which Ethan was forced to leave his home and go to a mysterious village, where only as a result they survived, Mother Miranda rules the roost. She is the one who dominates, but shares power between her children: the owner of the castle Lady Dimitrescu, the director of the Heisenberg factory, the creator of the dolls Donna Beneviento Karl and the disfigured Doctor Moreau.

All of them settled tightly in the village and subjugated the local residents. How this happened will be told as the plot progresses, but traditionally at the very beginning we know nothing.

In short, the release did not go without problems. The game also experienced graphical artifacts and problems with settings. Now almost everything on the list has been decided.

2. Remake of Resident Evil 4 (iOS/iPadOS/macOS)

We also take care of this game separately in the review. Capcom never ceases to amaze us at the level of its remakes. It’s actually a new game, but keeping the old basics. This project literally opened up a new life!

The new product is already available for the iPhone 15 Pro, and it can be a great starting point for newbies and a good gift for fans.

Regarding the village, there are precautions here, it has become more responsive. There are no graphic settings, the game is available in one resolution with one graphics for iOS. There is a Russian dubbing.

3. Honkai: Star Rail (iOS/iPadOS)

Another hit from the creators of Genshin Impact, which again captured the whole world immediately after release. No sooner had the game been released than it instantly attracted more than 10 million players. Now this figure is much higher.

Honkai: Star Rail (our review) is the second decent game for mobile platforms with excellent graphics, a detailed world, an interesting plot and optional microtransactions. I am sure that she will have no fewer fans than Genshin.

And of course, we will be waiting for constant updates, new events, all sorts of dungeons, heroes and enemies.

4. GTA Definitive Edition (iOS/iPadOS)

The release of these new products was also not without noise. The remakes of three cult GTA parts looked terrible, they had a huge number of bugs, and the optimization provided much to be desired.

All these issues were corrected for the release for iOS. For a mobile platform, the games look good, although they are still not that fresh. And, most importantly, the controls were made normal, and the glitches were removed.

This trilogy is not available in Russia, but there are rules to circumvent these restrictions.

5. Hitman: Blood Money Assassination (iOS/iPadOS)

A small remaster of the cult game with a killer codenamed 47.

It was completely ported to the iPhone and made some improvements from the newer parts. For example, a special spectator agent 47 appeared, capable of highlighting important objects and NPCs, as well as a mini-map.

Excellent optimization, good graphics. The lighting has been slightly reworked here to make the picture even richer.

In short: it plays just fine, I have no complaints about the developers at all. Respect. Not available in Russia, but installation instructions are available.

6. Pocket City 2 (iOS/iPadOS/macOS)

Ever played SimCity? This is an outstanding city building simulator from Electronic Arts.

Pocket City 2 (our review) is an ideal analogue of this game for the mobile platform. Available on the App Store, there are no donations, everything is free. Well, except for the game itself, which will cost you 449 rubles.

Here you can even upload your cities to the Internet so that others can play them. You can share the city with another player so that you can build it together for the first time and solve problems.

7. Black Book (iOS/iPadOS/macOS)

This is a popular game from the Russian studio Morteshka.

In the story, the user plays as a young sorceress who has just received black knowledge. The game takes place at the end of the 19th century.

It’s easy, you don’t need to think too hard. Just sit back and enjoy the intriguing plot.

10. False P (macOS)

One of the biggest souls game releases this year is finally available for Mac.

Everything is in the best traditions of this genre. A very complex design, a detailed world, beautiful graphics, a large ENT with abrupt delivery, and so on.
