According to the recent announcement, Kia and Hyundai cars will now be able to control smart home appliances, and Samsung devices such as smart speakers and TVs will also be able to control car functions.
This collaboration allows users to activate Home Mode to turn on car-related devices such as air conditioners, air purifiers, robot vacuum cleaners and home lighting while driving.
Additionally, users can turn off unnecessary lights and pre-set the temperature in the vehicle by activating Away Mode before leaving home.
Vehicle owners will also be able to use Samsung’s SmartThings platform for integrated energy management in both their cars and homes.
This feature will reportedly be available for both new car models, including the Hyundai IONIQ and Kia EV series, as well as existing models via OTA update.
