At CES 2024, the Rabbit R1 was presented, a compact gadget that can itself manage any mobile application.

The R1 features a 2.88-inch touchscreen display, a swivel photo and video jack, a scroll wheel, and a button to launch the voice assistant. It is powered by a 2.3 GHz MediaTek processor, has 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory.

R1 is designed for voice control; the screen is more of an auxiliary element than necessary. Most user commands should be spoken by voice after pressing the side button.

The device runs on its own Rabbit OS system. It’s based on “big action models” rather than a language model like ChatGPT, the company says. Simply put, Rabbit OS is one of the great super apps through which you can manage your contact programs.

With Rabbit OS, users can control music, turn on taxis, order groceries, send messages and much more, all from a single interface. That is, the device does not switch between the conditional Spotify and Uber, but uses the capabilities of the services in its interface. Users will only need to add a service account to be managed by Rabbit.

For example, the Rabbit R1 can accidentally order an Uber to the Empire State Building. The gadget takes a few seconds to analyze the information, then cards with fares and train data appear on the screen.

Topic: This is a new revolution that will become more important than the iPhone. Soon you will see it for yourself

Using artificial intelligence, Rabbit trained the operating system in the way users use popular applications. Rabbit states that this model can be applied to any application, but how it will work in practice is still unknown.

The R1 also has a SIM card slot, but it is needed for the Internet. While the R1 can make calls, Rabbit herself doesn’t plan for her device to replace the phone.

Rabbit R1 is already available for pre-order for $199 or 18 thousand rubles. Deliveries will begin in March. [The Verge]
