The pace of Android device launches continues to pick up, and even as we head into the last month of the year, manufacturers continue to offer options to consider when buying a new device. Presented today OPPO A77s which expands the average range of Android terminals.
Model range A77s OPPO it is in an intermediate stage, lagging behind Reno family phones like OPPO Reno8 Pro or regular Reno8. What’s interesting about this new OPPO A77s is that it comes from a somewhat strange family, i.e. we already have OPPO A77 4G and OPPO A77 5G.
Now the slogan “s” appears to make it a little more difficult to choose between these devices, but in order not to be difficult, we will see all the characteristics of this new mobile signed by OPPO and that It has high quality elements. Although it would be better if you lowered your expectations, because it’s not about the processor.
Actually, the interior is completely average and this is the exterior where there are high range elements. We will take a detailed look at all the new features of this OPPO A77s, which can compete with the on-duty Xiaomi, Realme or Redmi. Of course, all this will depend on the price at which it will be launched.
OPPO A77s: it’s OPPO’s new mid-range phone
The look of the new OPPO A77s is the most striking thing about this device, and it’s not really because of its front. The rear end monopolizes all the fame for a pretty simple reason: OPPO ditched plastic or glass in order to use animal skin material in bright orange.
The use of this material is not new to OPPO as it has been used in other terminals such as the OPPO Find X2 Pro 5G. But the difference between this situation and the situation of this device is that this terminal is medium, not high-end, this may be a minor reason; but it’s still a reason to use it.
Leaving aside the materials used on the back of the new OPPO A77s, we’ll talk about their overall design. We find the vertical camera module, which is located on the upper left side and protrudes slightly from the device. This camera module uses two materials: glass and metal.
Making a jump to the foreground of the new OPPO device, we find the following: 6.56″ HD+ LCD so it’s below FullHD+ and refresh rate 90 Hz. It is quite curious that OPPO has decided to bet on a panel that does not reach FHD+ but has a refresh rate above 60Hz.
The camera for selfies or video calls is located in the upper central part of the device and a drop falls on the screen. The sensor built into this camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels with a focal length of f/2.0. Two rear cameras main 50-megapixel f / 1.8 and auxiliary 2-megapixel f / 2.4.
Having already seen the exterior, we need to talk about the interior of the new OPPO A77s. The processor that OPPO is betting on is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, which is aimed at the mid-range price segment, but which, unfortunately, will become somewhat obsolete in a short time due to the release of the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.
For RAM OPPO decided to provide only 8 GB, which is more than a reasonable number, and it even consists of high-end terminals. Storage is a different story as we have 128 GB which is thankfully expandable with microSD cards allowing us to give more life in the future.
The version of Android it’s released with, Android 12 under ColorOS 12.1It’s still too early to talk about an update to Android 13. But given that it’s just been released, the truth is that it should be included in OPPO’s plans to update Google’s new version of Android.
In terms of autonomy, we find a 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The capacity is high, although loading is not the fastest seen in the OPPO terminal. Communication expected: 4G, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Availability and price of OPPO A77s
OPPO has not yet announced their new OPPO A77 for Spain. So, unfortunately, we have to wait until the Asian company decides to launch this device within our borders, as it did with its OPPO Reno8 Pro and OPPO Reno8. What we do know is the starting price in Thailand.
When converted into euros, the figure remains at 245 euros.. This price is quite high for a device with an HD+ screen and a mid-range processor, in addition to the lack of a noteworthy photographic section. We will need to see the real price, but if it is higher, it may be difficult to compete in the end.
