According to Telegram founder Pavel Durov, the number of paid users increased by 1 million last month, reaching 5 million.
This subscriber growth is a significant achievement for Telegram, considering that just a month ago, on December 8, 2023, the service had 4 million paid users.
Durov called Telegram Premium “the fastest growing paid subscription in the history of the messenger market.”
Let us also remind you that Telegram launched its Premium subscription in mid-June 2022. Since then the service has seen steady growth. More than 1 million users subscribed in the first five months after launch, and their numbers quadrupled within the year.
The total Telegram audience in Russia also showed significant growth, increasing from 50.8 million users in October 2021 to 82.3 million in October 2023.
