Okhotenko explained that fires are often caused by improperly or unattended charging of batteries, power banks, robotic vacuum cleaners and electric scooters. The Ministry of Emergency Situations records between 3 and 10 fires for these reasons every day.
The agency representative noted that adults should set an example for children to use chargers properly and not to leave chargers overnight or unattended.
Okhotenko said, “In Russia, between 3 and 10 fires occur a day due to fires caused by batteries being charged.”
