The former owner of the Tekhnosila and Uyuterra networks, founder of several space companies, Mikhail Kokorich, announced his renunciation of Russian citizenship. The businessman wrote about this on his LinkedIn page, attaching a copy of the document from the Russian embassy.

Former owner of Tekhnosila Kokorich announced his renunciation of Russian citizenship

The document provides for the termination of Kokorich’s citizenship and the confiscation of his passports. At the same time, the businessman hid the country in which the embassy that issued the conclusion is located.

Kokorich wrote that he renounced Russian citizenship “consciously and officially,” ending his connection to the country. The former head of Technosila said his decision was “dictated by a fundamental disagreement” with the conduct of the special operation in Ukraine and the policy of Vladimir Putin’s government.

In 2004, Mikhail Kokorich founded the Chudodom chain of home goods stores and in 2008 it merged with the Uyuterra chain.

In 2010, the businessman became the owner of Tekhnosila, one of the largest chains selling household appliances at that time. In 2012, after participating in the network’s anti-crisis management, Kokorich sold the company and five years later, Tekhnosila went bankrupt and was absorbed by Eldorado.

Since then, Kokorich has owned the space companies Dauria Aerospace and Momentus Space. Currently, the businessman is the owner of the European startup that develops ultra-high-speed air transport Destinus. In February 2022, his company raised $29 million to create a hybrid airplane and rocket.
