Hong Kong cryptocurrency exchange HashKey has become a unicorn. This status is granted to private companies whose enterprise valuation exceeds $1 billion.

In its latest funding round, HashKey raised $100 million at a valuation of $1.2 billion. In its statement, the company did not reveal the names of the investors, clarifying that they are recognized Web3 institutions and strategic partners.

HashKey will use the funds raised to develop its own ecosystem and business diversification.

HashKey received a cryptocurrency trading license from the Hong Kong Securities Commission in late August.
