The transaction amount is not disclosed. Following the change of ownership, Atol will focus on expanding its activities. In particular, the company plans to develop new models of hardware solutions and develop its own software, including POS terminals and integrated solutions.
“We are also actively reviewing the monetization processes of our solutions. This will allow clients to access our solutions on more flexible terms and provide a stable income stream for the company,” Volodin told RBC.
He added that Atol sees potential in the field of financial technology and will develop partnerships with banks and other financial institutions.
Additionally, given the popularity of online commerce, the company will focus on developing solutions for the e-commerce segment, including integration with relevant platforms and creating tools for managing online stores.
An RBC source close to Atol said Softline, Sber and T-Bank were also among the contenders for the company. A representative for Atol did not respond to the publication’s question about who is interested in purchasing the organization.
In February, Kommersant reported that Softline was in negotiations to acquire Atol. The newspaper’s sources clarified that the agreement is in its final phase and its amount is estimated at 5 billion rubles.
“Atol” occupies a leading position among manufacturers of cash register equipment registered with the Federal Tax Service, an RBC source highlighted among equipment manufacturers. In 2023, Atol LLC’s revenue amounted to 5.4 billion rubles, a year-on-year increase of 38%, and net profit amounted to 227 million rubles (an almost 10-fold increase).
