This became clear when the Wayward Souls game, popular among Android users, was removed without any warning or explanation.
Wayward Souls, a classic RPG released in 2014, was deleted not only from the Google Play Store, but also from users’ devices, confirming Google’s ability to remotely delete content.
Users who purchased the game found that the game was lost and they encountered a 404 error when trying to access the game through the Play Store.
The incident highlighted a serious problem in digital content ownership: purchased items can be removed at any time, often without compensation. This raises questions about the reliability and long-term usability of digital shopping.
Google does not provide clear rules for deleting apps. In some cases, this may be due to violations of developer policies or distribution agreements.
Although Google said that users could continue to use removed applications, this was not the case in Wayward Souls.
