Notion supports Google Calendar with its own calendar app

Conceptrenowned productivity platform launches Calendar, your own calendar app which integrates with all your databases and notes. According to the company, the tool is more flexible than all competing options. It promises fewer clicks and better organization.

Notion bought calendar app Cron in 2022. So this new tool is basically the same solution but with a new design. “The latest version of Cron will automatically update with the new name, but it will still be a quality application that you love,” explained Raphael Schaadel, founder of Cron.

So the new Notion calendar supports key features like Calendly-style booking tools. Additionally, a command bar that can be used to quickly set up recurring appointments and the like.

The big news is the integration with Notion. For example, if you’re already using the platform, you can now create or link Notion documents in a Calendar prompt. You can also display key dates or milestones recorded in your database in the app.

“To move the world toward a place where everyone makes the most of their time, we’re committed to incorporating a digital time layer into every aspect of Notion: notes, projects, tasks, and more,” Schaadel said in a statement. Notion Calendar is now available for Mac, Windows, iOS and the web. An Android application is also being developed.

Integration of Notion Calendar with other platforms

The Notion app allows you to sync multiple calendars. This way, it will be easier for you to manage your personal and work agenda. So, for example, it will automatically block reserved hours in all your calendars.

The tool is also designed to integrate with other platforms. You can create new Zoom or Google Meet meetings without leaving Notion Calendar. Support for other similar online services will be available soon.

The new calendar also allows you to view items from your Notion database, as well as events from your Google Calendar. This way, you can view project schedules and task deadlines in a simplified way. However, it is not possible to import Google Calendar events directly into the database.

It is also not compatible with Outlook, which is a major limitation for companies using the Office portfolio. But Notion says it is working to make its calendar available to new vendors.

One of the features of Notion Calendar is its simple, minimalistic design with light and dark modes. It is “useful and beautiful,” as the company itself says.. “We’re reinventing what a modern calendar can do for you… And we’re just getting started,” Schaadel said.

Notion is working hard to improve its offering as a business platform. The company recently launched several artificial intelligence features. Early last year he announced the launch Notion AI, an integrated software solution to help its users improve their writing skills and approach projects with more creativity.
