According to International Data Group’s report, Apple reached a record market share of 20.1% by selling approximately 234.6 million iPhones.
This was a significant success for the company; especially considering that last time Samsung wasn’t number one in sales, Nokia was the leader, and Apple wasn’t even in the top 5.
The success of the Apple company took place against the background of the anticipated launch of a new series of Samsung Galaxy S24 phones.
Despite global smartphone sales falling by 3.2% in 2023, Apple has managed to achieve significant growth thanks to increased demand for premium devices, which now account for more than 20% of the market.
