This innovation was announced by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who returned during a conversation with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on the Unconfuse Me podcast.
According to Altman, the next-generation language model that forms the basis of ChatGPT will be “fully multimodal with support for speech, images, code and video.”
This means ChatGPT can analyze and render not only text and audio but also video content; This will significantly increase the capabilities of productive AI.
But with these new opportunities come new concerns, especially around privacy and data security. OpenAI had already faced criticism for using “stolen” data to train its models.
The new version of ChatGPT, which can analyze video, may raise more questions about how the company will process and protect users’ personal data.
According to Altman, the GPT-5 version of ChatGPT is expected to be released in 2024.
