Apple is giving banks and mobile wallet developers access to NFC on iPhone. The European Commission reported this.

The company made concessions after the preliminary results of the antimonopoly investigation into the case, which has been going on for a year and a half.

In our ongoing discussions with the proposed commission, we have committed to providing third-party developers with the ability to enable their users to make contactless payments via NFC in their iOS apps, separate from Apple Pay and Apple Wallet.
