In 2023, the share of laptop supplies to Russia through similar imports decreased from 53% to 33% of the total import volume, GS Group said. 2 million laptops were delivered in the country (this is 41% less than a year earlier).
The situation with tablets is good. Only 15% of tablets were supplied through parallel imports in 2023 (from 27%). In total, 1.3 million devices were imported during the year (a drop of 26%).
As analysts note, almost all of the departing manufacturing countries, except Apple, have lost their positions in the market.
Experts attribute the decrease in supplies through parallel imports to the arrival of new Chinese electronics suppliers to Russia. Kommersant’s interlocutor in the electronics market sees another reason: last year, Russian laptop manufacturers began producing equipment and entered the consumer segment, reducing the need for distributors in parallel with imports.
