HiCloud claims that its undersea data center saves up to 122 million kWh of energy annually and can serve customers at the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP). The company has already received orders from China Telecom and Hong Kong software/AI surveillance company SenseTime.

The use of underwater data centers is still in its infancy, but the technology has the potential to revolutionize the way data is stored and processed. Subsea data centers offer a number of advantages over traditional land-based data centers, including reduced energy consumption and increased reliability and security.
