The Federal Antimonopoly Service recognized Ozon and Wildberries as dominant in the market market. This fact allows stricter regulatory measures to be applied to companies. However, due to the moratorium on inspections of IT companies, the FAS relies on voluntary correction of violations. This was stated by the head of the service, Maxim Shaskolsky.

FAS recognized Ozon and Wildberries as dominant in the market

According to the head of the FAS, last month the service completed an analysis of the state of competition in the online retail market. As a result, the collective dominance of Wildberries and Ozon was established. Together, the companies occupy 80% of the market.

“Yes, Resolution 448 (which introduces a moratorium on inspections of IT companies – IF) is now in effect, and to avoid further negative consequences, we are working with companies to voluntarily eliminate violations,” Shaskolsky was quoted as saying. by Interfax.

He added that, based on the results of work with companies, the FAS expects the voluntary elimination of identified violations.

Previously, the service called for the removal of the markets from the government decree on a moratorium on scheduled inspections of IT companies until the end of 2024.

According to the director of the FAS, the service periodically receives complaints from consumers and small and medium-sized businesses. Most complaints are related to inflated logistics costs, imposition of unfavorable conditions and fines.
