Agon by AOC, a brand specializing in gaming monitors, has announced the Agon Pro AG344UXM. This is a 34-inch (86.4-centimeter) monitor with mini LED-backlit and a refresh rate of 170 Hertz.
Thanks to this mini LED backdrop, the display has 1152 dimming zones that can be individually illuminated or turned off to achieve sections that are illuminated in pitch black or at a peak brightness of 1000 nits within the same frame.
With its color-sensitive IPS panel, the AG344UXM offers wide viewing angles of 178°/178°, 10-bit color depth, and 99 percent DCI-P3 and 100 percent sRGB wide gamma coverage. It also has a 170 Hertz refresh rate and a 1 ms GtG response time. GtG stands for gray to gray.

The Agon Pro AG344UXM also has several ports on board. With DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 connection, you can connect the monitor to the latest generation GPUs or current generation game consoles.
In addition, the AG344UXM has a USB-C input that supports image signal transmission with a refresh rate of 170Hz and 10-bit color, while simultaneously providing 90W USB Power Delivery. This means you can connect a high-end laptop or a powerful mini PC powered by the display. The product also functions as a USB hub with four available USB ports and a USB-B upstream port.
You can use the widescreen for two things. While seeing more of the digital environment, of course, you can play games on it. However, such screens are also very suitable for multitasking while working or studying.
The timeline in video editing software is much more visible at a glance on a large monitor like the AG344UXM. For day-to-day tasks, two apps fit side-by-side without having to worry about sacrificing space. The display also features two eight-watt DTS speakers.
Design-wise, AOC’s Agon is particularly proud of the three-sided frameless front with red accents on the rear. For further customization, the LightFX RGB lighting on the back can be synchronized with other AOC peripherals using the G-Menu software. In terms of ergonomics, the AG344UXM’s sturdy metal stand offers plenty of tilt and swivel options.
The AG344UXM’s OSD settings can be adjusted using the wired remote control (QuickSwitch), the rear 5-way joystick, or the aforementioned G-Menu software. This lets you choose one of six custom game modes, among other things, change settings like AOC Game Color (saturation), Flip Point (crosshair placement), FPS counter or LowBlue mode.
price and availability
The Agon Pro AG344UXM will be available from July 2022 at a suggested retail price of 1,849 Euros.
