Sberbank is going to file a bankruptcy petition for Alexei Blinovsky, the wife of the author of “Marathon of Wishes” Elena Blinovskaya. The bank published a notice about this previously on Fedresurs.
The credit institution intends to appeal to the arbitration court. The reason for starting bankruptcy proceedings in the bank was called “the presence of overdue debt under a contract guaranteeing the obligations of a legal entity.”
Elena Blinovskaya’s lawyer, speaking to RIA Novosti, said that the defense is discussing with the defendant the possibility of filing for bankruptcy. The blogger cannot pay the debt because all of her accounts and other assets are frozen.
Last week, Moscow’s Zamoskvoretsky Court toughened the preventive measure for Elena Blinovskaya: she was transferred from house arrest to a pre-trial detention center until April 26.
Blinovskaya was detained in April 2023 while trying to leave the country. The investigation believes that she did not pay taxes worth more than 918 million rubles between 2019 and 2021. According to law enforcement officials, the blogger resorted to a “business fragmentation” plan.
Her husband Alexey was also charged with complicity in tax evasion and money laundering.
