The Russian Association of Trading Companies and Manufacturers of Electrical and Computer Equipment (RATEK) appealed to the Ministry of Digital Development with a request to initiate an update of the list of radio-electronic equipment related to registration.
We are talking about the norm of using Wi-Fi, in particular 6 GHz. SCRF has already allocated the 5.9–6.4 GHz range for Wi-Fi 6E communications. However, the management of such devices will be carried out by formally registering them with Roskomnadzor.
The list of device registration conditions has not changed since March 2022. RATEK proposes to add the 5.9–6.4 GHz range for home use.
Due to legislative regulation of a number of Xiaomi, Mikrotik and Zyxel routers, technical support for operation in the 6 GHz band does not delay it in the Russian Federation.
This also applies to Apple technology: modern MacBook laptops have Wi-Fi 6E technology, but it may or may not be used, depending on the region.
