The new product already promises to break a new record in terms of clock speed among mobile chips. According to information appearing on the Chinese social network Weibo, the new platform will be based on Phoenix cores running at 4 GHz.
This is a significant increase over the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 clocked at 3.3GHz and the Dimensity 9300 clocked at 3.25GHz.
Qualcomm plans to use a 3-nanometer process technology to produce the new SoC that will allow it to reach such high frequencies.
However, questions arise about energy efficiency and the possibility of overheating of devices due to high processor frequencies. There is no exact information about the release date of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 yet, so we can only wait for an official statement from the company.
