There was a failure in the services of the cloud provider Selectel. Some users are having trouble accessing the cloud database service.
Updated: The Selectel failure became part of a global RU domain zone failure.
Cloud provider Selectel experienced an interruption in its services. This is reported by the provider’s users, as well as resource data to monitor the proper functioning of the sites.
According to Downdetector, Selectel is experiencing network outages that began around 18:40 Moscow time. According to current data at the time of this publication, the number of breakdowns is increasing and already exceeds 20 incidents.
According to the Seletel.Status service, there is a “major incident” in the operation of cloud databases. Selectel users also reported to RB.RU about difficulties sending and receiving emails.
Selectel’s press service noted that, according to external signals, authentication of records in the .ru DNS zone has stopped working.
“Most likely, a signing error occurred during the next scheduled change to the .ru DNS zone file. Since then, the requests have not been authenticated. Correction by the technical operator of the Russian national domain zone may take up to two hours if the problem can be located quickly,” the company’s press service noted.
On Tuesday, January 30, a large-scale failure occurred in the RU domain area. The Downradar service reports thousands of user complaints about the operation of Internet resources in Russia: sites do not open, search engines do not work.
