TikTok promises to “boost” these videos within 72 hours of being published. Creators who have been on TikTok for more than three months will be eligible for more views as long as the videos do not contain advertising or political content.

This shift towards horizontal videos is a significant change for a platform where most users watch content on their mobile phones, making the vertical format ideal.

The switch to landscape format will require viewers to rotate their devices as well.
