Mark Zuckerberg, head of Meta (banned in Russia and recognized as extremist) said the new App Store rules are “so burdensome” that he doesn’t see developers choosing the new business models Apple has proposed as alternatives to current ones.
For this reason, the company has no intention of releasing its own application stores in the European Union in response to the App Store. Developers will find it difficult to work with App Store alternatives.
Please keep in mind that Apple will not receive any commission on apps offered in these stores. However, store entry developers must pay 0.5 euros for each app installation once the threshold of 1 million downloads is passed.
EU authorities have not yet commented on the announced changes to the App Store. [9to5]
