To the surprise of many, this feature is available not only for Apple Silicon-based Macs, but also for older Intel-based models, albeit with some limitations.
Vision Pro can offer a virtual display with up to 4K resolution when used with a Mac powered by Apple Silicon chips. When connected to a Mac running Intel processors, resolution is limited to a maximum of 3K.
Users can still resize the window, but the image will not be as clear as the display running on Apple M series computers.
To use the Mac Virtual Display feature with Vision Pro, your computer must be running macOS 14 Sonoma or above.
Additionally, the Vision Pro and the Mac must be signed in with the same Apple ID, be within range of each other, and have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.
