German business software developer SAP, which had previously warned of its exit from the Russian market, will cut off access to cloud services to customers in the Russian Federation on March 20, RBC reported.
Restricting access will be the last step in leaving Russia, although several large companies still use the developer’s services.
The company wanted to leave Russia in 2022, but then difficulties arose with the sale of the business. In March last year, the head of SAP in Russia dedicated himself to a project that will support the German company’s clients. Part of the team followed him from the Russian unit.
Now the parent company has warned its Russian subsidiary that it will limit access to its cloud services by clients in the Russian Federation.
The company recommends downloading all necessary data from the cloud before March 20. The company also announced its readiness to “conduct negotiations without delay on the early termination of the cloud services contract.”
Before the start of the special operation, SAP worked in Russia with financial companies and government organizations. The developer sold services in the field of logistics, industry and commerce.
