Singaporean startup Brilliant Labs introduced Frame smart glasses, which are very similar in concept to Google Glass.
The frames look like regular glasses, but they have a transparent microOLED screen and camera.
According to the promotional video, the glasses are designed to work with artificial intelligence. To do this, the company uses the developments of OpenAI and Perplexity.
The frame can translate the text that is in front of the user’s eyes, constantly solve questions using AI, and limit pictures. The remaining possibilities are still unknown, because no one has used the glasses.
Also in the promotional video it is shown that the image is displayed on the entire screen, but in reality the image will only be in a 20-degree field of view.
The device is powered by two batteries located in the showers. They are charged using the proprietary Mister Power charger, which is mounted in the middle of the frame. The manufacturer guarantees that the glasses will work throughout the day without recharging.
Brilliant Labs has already opened pre-orders for the glasses. They cost 350 dollars or 32 thousand rubles. Sales will begin on April 15.
The company was founded by Bobak Tavangar in 2019. He has been studying augmented reality since 2012, and until 2019 he worked at the Apple office in Shanghai. There he implemented the implementation of Apple software in the supply chain. [9to5Mac]
