Essence, the French startup that developed an app to monitor women’s health, has raised $600,000 in business development funding from Berkeley SkyDeck, Davidovs VC, Growing Well Partners and several business angels, including those with Russian roots.
It is worth noting that women investors actively participated in the round: in addition to Evgeny Dunaev and Konstantin Sinyushin, Ksenia Kapur, Yana Gashkova, Elena Enash and Elena Zhigalina invested in the startup.
The funds received will be used to expand the client network, as well as for research: in particular, a team of analysts will establish a correlation between the hormonal cycle and the effectiveness of women in the workplace in its different phases.
Based on the results of the study, the company aims to develop expert recommendations on nutrition, fitness, time management, etc., adapted to the cycle, to increase the productivity of employees in the office and remotely.
