While not technically 4K on either eye, microOLED displays have a staggering pixel density of around 3,386 pixels per inch; this is more than some 4K TVs. Under the hood is a powerful M2 chip powered by the R1 coprocessor that seamlessly processes data from various sensors such as cameras, TrueDepth, LiDAR, IR, and others.
However, although the battery has impressive features such as temperature sensors and accelerometers, it is quite difficult to remove without damage.
A positive step is that components can be repaired without “unrecognized part” warnings. But the fragile windshield puts any repairability to shame. Unlike the more durable plastic housings of competing models, a cracked screen renders the entire headset unusable.
Final repairability score: 4/10
