When I first tried to figure out how to delete a contact from an iPhone on my own, I was stunned.

For some reason, Apple made this procedure so complicated that even an experienced user could not always find the solution on his own.

The standard process is long. In the application Contacts you need to select a number, go to edit mode and find the button at the very bottom Delete contact. What if you need to delete 15, 20, 40 contacts?

An old and time-consuming method that also prevents the contacts from turning off the connection

Another option is simpler, but also not ideal: hold your finger on the number and select “Delete contact” in the context menu.

It’s not obvious, it’s confusing, and you can only remove one at a time.

With this group of buttons “select several” to immediately delete numbers, there are no buttons in the interface. But this one is hidden and exists in the form of a gesture.

Now let’s talk about how to solve the problem.

On iPhone, select contacts with two fingers.

iOS has a convenient quick select gesture built into it.

► Open your contacts list and then use your index finger and middle fingers to touch the screen. Without letting go, pull down and grab your fingers. Next, long-press the selected group and tap “delete [количество] contacts

While selecting, you can release your fingers and move them elsewhere to leave the desired contacts untouched. The selection will not be reset. This is how everything is as simple as possible.

if you don’t want to stick up with two fingers, you can first create a separate list with unnecessary numbers, and then delete them with the same gesture.

To create a deletion list:

1. In the Contacts app, tap the button»
2. Further “Add list“, call it something
3. Open the list and click “Add contacts»
4. Select what you don’t need and click “Ready»
5. Without releasing the screen, select the contacts with two fingers.
6. Long-press your selection and click “Delete contacts

You can also use a Mac or PC to get your contacts in a slightly more traditional way.

Mac and Windows support iCloud

In desktop computer multi-selections, contacts are even simpler.

Go to the iCloud.com browser and sign in with your Apple ID.

Login to the application Contacts and with a key pressed on the keyboard Team (for Mac) and Ctrl (for Windows) select unnecessary contacts.

Click on the dotted circle icon at the top and select “Delete contacts

This convenient method allows you to quickly clean several numbers at a time without the need for evaporation in contact processing mode.
