According to insiders, while Huawei continues to focus on smartphones, it is also expanding into other technology segments such as VR. Details on the specifications are scarce, but reports suggest that the Chinese headset could use a 4K Sony micro LED display for each eye, similar to what Apple offers. In terms of weight, Huawei may have an advantage as its devices are said to weigh 350 grams compared to Apple’s 600 grams.

The official release date is unknown, but leaks indicate that the presentation could take place as early as 2024, depending on Sony’s display production times. Huawei already has an AR headset, Vision Glass, but their new device is expected to be a full-fledged VR headset targeting a different segment.
