Some users have reported unsuccessful upgrade attempts with error code 0XC1900101 and encountering Green Screen of Death (GSOD) with error message “GSOD SYSTEM_PTE_MISUSE”.
The issues may be due to Sysprep incompatibility, as other users have reported error code “0xC1900101 – 0x30018” along with the message “Installation failed on FIRST_BOOT due to an error during the SYSPREP_SPECIALIZE operation.”
These issues were raised in the Feedback Hub, where one of the complaints received a significant number of upvotes from other users.
There is currently no official confirmation from Microsoft that there is a solution to the situation.
