Nvidia has released a beta version of its chatbot Chat with RTX.

Its main advantage was that it runs locally on the computer. But to run it you will need any Nvidia RTX 30 or 40 series video card with at least 8 GB of video memory.

Chat with RTX can transcribe YouTube videos, provide documents and provide brief analysis, and answer questions.

The main disadvantage of Chat with RTX is the fact that the application is very heavy. On a computer with an Intel Core i9-14900K, an Nvidia RTX 4090 graphics card and 64 GB of RAM, the application took 30 minutes to install and took up 40 GB of disk space. Python is also installed along with the chatbot, which consumes 3 GB of RAM.

Once installed, Chat with RTX works in the browser, but all necessary procedures are processed on the computer. At the same time, the command line opens, which shows error codes.

Also, Chat with RTX does not remember the context, so it cannot maintain a dialogue. But this will probably be fixed in future updates. [The Verge]
