Since its launch in stores earlier this month, the number of applications developed specifically for this device has exceeded a thousand. This is a significant increase compared to the first 600 apps available from day one.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of marketing, thanked the developers for their “hard work” and desire to “push the boundaries of what’s possible.”

There are more than 1.5 million apps in the VisionOS app store, but most of them are iPad apps running in compatibility mode.

Despite the company’s enthusiasm, there is controversy surrounding the VisionOS app store. While major apps like Disney+, NBA, and HBO’s Max are available with enhanced experiences for the Vision Pro, many major apps like Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok are missing.

Apple is in a tough spot because even though the 1,000-app milestone has been reached for Vision Pro, many popular apps on the iOS App Store are not yet available.

This may be disappointing for users expecting familiar apps on a new device, especially considering the high price tag.
