Google has announced that its Gemini chatbot, formerly known as Bard, keeps records of your conversations for up to three years, even if you decide to delete them.
Gemini, which has received many positive reviews from OpenAI’s ChatGPT for its superior capabilities, is now under the spotlight for a different reason.
Google warns users not to share sensitive information with Gemini that you wouldn’t want a reviewer to see. This is because Google uses human factors to analyze Gemini and improve its functionality.
Interestingly, even after activity in Gemini apps is deleted, the information available to reviewers is stored separately and is not associated with your Google account.
This means that your “conversations” can arise at the most unexpected moment, even if you have long forgotten about them.
Google says it tries to anonymise the data by stripping it of information that could identify a user, but even without a first and last name, metadata can tell a lot about you.
