Authorities are reportedly asking universities and colleges to remove cellular communications equipment. The authorities refer to the Rospotrebnadzor rules, which state that the restrictions apply only to schools. However, the authorities still demand that the norms be extended to higher and secondary specialized education institutions. The problem is St. Petersburg, as well as the Chelyabinsk and Irkutsk regions.
Tele2 noted that the dismantling of equipment on the territory of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) will lead to disruption of services. The same is true for other educational institutions. In general, operators believe that shutting down equipment and dismantling base stations is unacceptable even under sanctions.
The Ministry of Digital Development stated that they are examining the validity of the ban from a scientific point of view. Although the need for disassembly is not obvious.
