Microsoft was developing a native upgrade tool for Windows 11. In X (formerly Twitter), a tipster shared a screenshot of the function, like NVIDIA’s DLSS. It promises to increase the resolution of apps and games using AI.
The discovery was announced by user PhantomOcean3 (@PhantomOfEarth) on Elon Musk’s social network, and the user managed to find it in an experimental version of the system. As shown in the print attached to the post, the function will be called “Automatic super resolution” and can be activated manually in selected applications.
Version 24H2 will feature an AI “Super Resolution” feature as stated in previous reports. Here are some related settings in graphics settings: default switching and per-application options. (26052) pic.twitter.com/fI9t4ksTWH

Although the tipster didn’t reveal details, the description of the tool suggests that it works similarly to Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), which uses artificial intelligence to increase the resolution of the game, but without sacrificing frames per second. AMD and Intel also have their own tools called FSR and XeSS respectively.
Now, Microsoft did not comment on the issuetherefore it is impossible to explain how the vehicle will work. It’s also possible that it depends on the specific hardware to be enabled, such as a dedicated graphics card with a tensor core or a processor with an NPU.
Windows 11 24H2 is coming
Instead of launching Windows 12, Microsoft may be preparing the major system update, Windows 11 24H2. The package should be marked with numerous new features for the operating system.
Not many details about the compilation have been released yet, and there is no confirmation that it is real. However, rumors suggest that it will be filled with AI-powered additions that will pair with the AI upgrade tool.
There is no official release estimate for Windows 11 24H2 for now, but Microsoft usually releases updates between September and October. So now we can only wait for more news.
