Google has released the first beta version of Android 15 for developers.

It is only available for Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. You can also test it through the Android Studio emulator.

So, what’s new in this OS version:

• brightness adjustment in the quick settings panel now works with tactile feedback when moving the slider

• now you can disable vibration response when working with keyboard stability

• There is a “Lower Protocol” feature for applications that sends many alerts.

• new options for interacting with the software platform on devices with flexible displays have appeared

• a number of optimizations have been introduced to reduce power consumption of resource-intensive applications; increased energy efficiency for applications, long running in the background

• it uses the latest version of Privacy Sandbox to limit the operation of applications with targeted advertising

• There is a new unified Health Connect platform, FileIntegrityManager with fs-verity in the Linux kernel (crypto-encryption for data protection).

• Now you can only use the on-screen application, and not the entire device interface.

The update is already available for download and installation. New Developer Preview builds will be released in March.
