The smartwatch in question is a PVT prototype that represents one of the final stages of testing before mass production. PVT prototypes are usually functional and designed to detect problems that may arise when scaling production.

The most striking difference is the hardware configuration. While the prototype has only 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, the final version has 2 GB and 32 GB of storage, respectively.

Although this prototype is not very useful for daily use, it provides valuable information about the development process of Pixel Watch. It shows the changes Google has made based on internal testing and possible feedback from previous prototypes.

Google may have initially considered options with less RAM and storage in order to create a more budget-friendly model. But performance issues probably forced them to increase these features in the latest version.
