More than half of Wildberries’ software sales in 2023 were on Windows. In Yandex Market, electronic keys for Office 365 led.
In addition to Windows, Wildberries users purchased packages of Microsoft Office, Carbit (car diagnostic software), the graphic editor Canva and VPN services. The number of sales of this type on the market has increased tenfold year after year. The growth in sales of keys and boxed solutions was confirmed by M.video-Eldorado and Avito.
By the end of 2023, selling Russian operating systems became much more difficult, as the local market was filled with laptops with Windows preinstalled, often activated with a Chinese key, which is hacked for the Russian Federation.
In addition, according to experts, there are no problems online to buy pirated keys for Windows with prices of about 300 rubles for the home version and 1200 rubles for the professional version, and this only makes the transition to home software difficult.
