Russians will be able to prohibit themselves from granting loans starting in March 2025. The State Duma approved the corresponding law in second and third readings.
The State Duma adopted a law on establishing a self-prohibition on the issuance of credits and loans by Russians. The document was immediately adopted on second and third reading, as stated in the invoice.
The Russians will be able to prohibit the granting of loans to banks and microfinance organizations. This can be done through Gosuslugi from March 1, 2025, through the MFC – from September 1, 2025.
The ban cannot be imposed on credits and loans secured by a car and a mortgage, nor on educational loan contracts within the framework of state support.
Information about the submitted self-ban will be entered into the credit history during the day if the application was submitted before 22:00 Moscow time. In other cases, the data will be entered the next day.
The ban itself will come into force the day after entering the data and will be lifted on the second day. You can set a ban on the issuance of loans and borrowings, as well as remove it an unlimited number of times.
