The first patient with a Neuralink brain implant was able to control a computer mouse using the power of thought. This was announced by Elon Musk at an event at Spaces, as cited by Reuters.
“Progress is good and the patient appears to have recovered completely, with no side effects, as far as we know. The patient can move the mouse around the screen just by thinking,” Musk said.
Now the company is trying to get the test subject to “make as many mouse clicks as possible.”
In late January, Musk announced that Neuralink had implanted an implant in the human brain for the first time. According to the businessman, the results already seemed promising.

Neuralink’s first product was called Telepathy. With its help, patients will be able to control their phones and computers with the power of their thoughts. The development was created primarily for people who have lost the ability to use their limbs.
Neuralink received approval from an independent review board in September 2023 for the first-in-human clinical trial of its brain implant chip. The company then began recruiting volunteers among patients with paralysis due to cervical spinal cord injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
