Former owner of EM PR agency Tom Blackwell has joined the management of Nebius Group (formerly Yandex NV). His position is called Director of Communications. Arkady Volozh suggested that Blackwell join the company.

As Forbes writes, referring to Blackwell, the former owner of EM will take over the position of communications director proposed by Volozh.
As the entrepreneur explained, Nebius now aims to become Europe’s largest commercial company in the field of artificial intelligence infrastructure.
He clarified that the company’s headquarters, as well as its main research and development centers, are based in Amsterdam. There are also additional offices and facilities in Israel and the United States.
There are now more than a thousand engineers working there developing the AI infrastructure.
“I think we have the opportunity to really revolutionise the European AI landscape and take it to the next level,” Blackwell said.
- On July 15, 2024, after two years of negotiations and studying various scenarios, the agreement to separate Yandex’s Russian and foreign businesses was finalized. The new owner of the Russian company was the close consortium of mutual funds. The transaction amounted to 475 billion rubles. The Dutch Yandex NV withdrew from the shareholding and decided to change its name to Nebius Group.
- Three projects are being brought together under the Nebius brand: Toloka, TripleTen and Avride. They will continue to operate under their own brands.
- Last week, Nebius shareholders approved a share buyback and a new name for the company.
