Currently, YouTube Music uses PWA (Progressive Web App) to reach desktops without the need for a real dedicated app. Although convenient, it does not offer the much-appreciated offline playback feature. However, recent “discoveries” show that the situation may change.

Eagle-eyed users have discovered a hidden “Downloads” tab on the YouTube Music website with the help of a little “programming magic”. This section displays filters that replicate the mobile app’s functionality for downloaded playlists, podcasts, songs, and albums. There are even settings to manage downloads.

Despite all its charm, it has a charm. All functions that come with this tab are still missing. It is most likely hidden in the interface and will probably be enabled after the official launch. When? Unknown.

Like the mobile app, offline listening will likely require a YouTube Premium subscription. Will podcasts be included in this functionality? It’s also unclear.
