The European Union adopted the thirteenth package of sanctions against Russia. The new restrictive measures apply to 106 natural persons and 88 legal entities, including companies from third countries.
As reported in a press release from the European Council, the list of products whose export is prohibited has been completed with possible components for the development and production of unmanned aerial vehicles, including electrical transformers, inductors and other parts.
In addition, the council added 27 organizations accused of supporting the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC) to the list. These companies will be subject to strict restrictions on the export of dual-use goods and technologies.
Among the companies included in the sanctions list are 10 companies from Turkey, China, Serbia, Kazakhstan, India, Thailand and Sri Lanka. In a statement, the department said these organizations help Russia circumvent trade restrictions.
The 12th package of sanctions against Russia, despite the objections of Austria and Hungary, was adopted by the EU in mid-December last year. The restrictions included a ban on the import of diamonds, cast iron, wire, sheets and some pipes.
According to Euractiv, citing diplomatic sources, in the coming weeks the European Union will begin work on the fourteenth package of sanctions against Russia.
