In March, new laws will come into force in Russia: advertising for VPN services will be banned, consular fees will increase, and short-term MTPL contracts will become available. We talk about the main news of the first month of spring.
- Roskomnadzor will add resources containing information about VPN services, their purchase or download, ways and methods to bypass blocking, and information on how to find out about them to the register of prohibited sites.
- If the bank’s license is revoked, the application for payment of compensation for a deposit can be submitted online through the Gosuslugi or on the website of the deposit insurance agency, if an enhanced electronic signature is available. The rule will go into effect on March 19.
- Short-term MTPL contracts will be available for purchase, for a period of one day to three months. Previously, such a contract was concluded for at least one year and the insurance was valid for at least three months.
- The Central Bank will increase premiums on mortgage risk coefficients. Overleveraged borrowers will find it more difficult to obtain a mortgage loan: the bank will reject it or offer a high mortgage rate.
- The requirements for labeling wine products will be tightened: now the label must indicate the type of drink, information about the manufacturer and the grape variety used in production.
- The sale of tobacco and nicotine-containing products without consumer packaging is being banned.
- Mandatory labeling of farm animals will be introduced from March 1. All cattle, poultry, pigs, horses and other animals must be registered. Marking can be group or individual depending on the animal.
