A class action lawsuit has been granted against Apple, citing the limitations of iCloud and the low amount of free cloud space available.

The plaintiffs accuse Apple of being solely at fault for iCloud managing device backups. At the same time, you can use only 5 GB of free space for free, but, as Apple’s profitability shows, this volume is not enough for users, which is why they have to buy additional storage space.

Apple requires your mobile device to use iCloud to back up certain types of files in the device’s main settings, as well as app data. For other file types, such as photos and videos, Apple mobile device holders can choose from other cloud storage sources serving markets including Google Drive, Sync.com, pCloud and others.

However, the plaintiffs claim that external cloud storage does not have full access to the full range of functions that can compete with iCloud. “There are no technological or government security boundaries for Apple to mandate the use of iCloud for these files,” the lawsuit states. [9to5]
