This feature, previously announced for 2024, breaks long messages (more than 40 words) into short summaries. This allows drivers to understand the gist of the message without having to listen to Google Assistant read the message out loud.
When you launch Android Auto 11.4 for the first time, you may receive a notification about the availability of the feature and access to settings. Google Assistant will still read text messages in full and create summaries for longer messages. After reading the summary, a notification appears on the Android Auto screen asking you to write a review.
A notification about possible minor inaccuracies appears before reading, and the function can be easily disabled if you do not need it.
